Description
As a charter member of the Southeastern Conference, Vanderbilt University has a rich history. Nobody reflects this as much as "Mr. C", the Commodore mascot of Vanderbilt.
Vanderbilt University was named after Cornelius Vanderbilt, the 1800s American shipping and railroad magnate, who in 1873, provided the financial gift to fund the college in Nashville, Tenn. Because of his career start in naval shipping, Vanderbilt was given the nickname "The Commodore". Ergo, the university's nickname, and its resultant mascot, the aforementioned Mr. C.
Mr. C's current incarnation of the Commodore mascot made his debut in 2014. We have meticulously recreated him in premium cast stone, from his lantern jaw, the VU hand signal (Go 'Dores!) and the black and gold naval uniform of Vanderbilt. Vandy fans and alumni alike will be proud to own Mr. C in this rich color scheme or in a regal vintage or rich bronze finish.
